AI VIDEO EDITING FOR MAC

Describe the edit.
Let your assistant make it.

Ask your own compatible AI assistant to cut a recording, build a clip or change the framing. The assistant can make edits in DF Editor without you manually changing the transcript.

Apple Silicon · macOS 15+

Describe the result.
Review the changes.

Connect an assistant you already use. You give the direction; DF Editor is where the video edit takes shape.

Connect your own assistant

Use the connection link from DF Editor Settings with a compatible assistant. Keep DF Editor open on your Mac.

Ask for an edit in plain language

Describe what to cut or keep. Your assistant can read the transcript, assemble clips, change framing and adjust subtitles.

Preview the result in the editor

Check the cuts, framing and captions before exporting. Ask for another change or adjust the edit yourself.

Make cuts, clips
and layout changes.

Use conversation for changes across the edit. Chat is supported through a compatible assistant; speaking instead of typing depends on that assistant’s voice features.

Your assistant needs to support the DF Editor connection. It uses its own account and subscription; an AI assistant is not included in the download.

Shorten a recording
Ask to cut the introduction or remove a repeated answer.
Create a clip
Ask for a short passage about a topic in the transcript.
Finish the layout
Ask to change the aspect ratio or caption style, then check the preview.

Contact support
Can I edit without manually changing the transcript?

Yes. A connected assistant can make edits and assemble clips from your instructions. It can use the transcript to find the right moments while you describe the result you want.

Can I edit video by talking?

Yes, when your compatible assistant can use connected editing tools during a voice conversation. Voice support depends on the assistant you choose; DF Editor does not include its own voice assistant.

How does the AI connection work?

DF Editor uses MCP, a connection that lets a compatible assistant use the editor’s tools. Create the connection link in Settings and add it to your assistant. DF Editor must stay open on your Mac.

Does DF Editor generate video from a prompt?

This workflow edits recordings you import. The assistant can work with cuts, clips, framing, captions and export tasks; it does not generate new video footage from your words.

What can my assistant receive?

When requested through the connection, your assistant can receive transcripts, project details and frame images. Review the data-sharing rules of the assistant you use. Your source videos stay on your Mac.

What do I need to get started?

An Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 15 or later, Google sign-in in DF Editor, and your own compatible assistant. Internet access is needed for the connection, account checks and transcription. No account is needed just to download the installer.
